The BCCI has announced the Indian squad for the three-match ODI series against New Zealand, starting from January 11. Despite shining brightly in domestic cricket, senior pacer Mohammed Shami has been overlooked once again. Shami's personal coach expressed strong displeasure over the selectors' decision.
Speaking out, Shami's coach said, "What more can a player do? How many more wickets does Shami need to take to get into the team? This means the selectors feel there is no need for him in the ODI side. But he still has a lot of cricket left to offer the country."
Bengal coach Laxmi Ratan Shukla also criticized the selection committee sharply. "The selection committee has done an injustice to Mohammed Shami. No international cricketer has played domestic cricket with such dedication in recent times. Treating Shami this way is shameful," he stated.
