Sanju Samson Under Pressure After Early Failure Against Afghanistan

Sanju Samson’s place in India’s playing XI has once again become a talking point after his disappointing performance against Afghanistan in the opening T20I. The Indian team management preferred Samson over young sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi, keeping the teenager on the bench. However, Samson managed only 10 runs before returning to the pavilion. Although India secured a comfortable win, the competition for a place in the batting order has intensified.

Abhishek Sharma played an aggressive half-century at the top of the order, while Ishan Kishan also impressed after coming in at No. 3, making it difficult for the team to leave either player out of the second T20I. Samson could get another opportunity, but another failure may strengthen the case for Vaibhav. The young batter has already shown his ability to bounce back after a slow start to his international career.
