Despite creating history by winning their first-ever ICC Women’s ODI World Cup, the Harmanpreet Kaur-led Indian women’s team will have to wait a little longer for their victory parade. The BCCI has confirmed that no celebrations or open-bus parades have been planned yet, as several board officials are currently attending ICC meetings in Dubai from November 4 to 7.
BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia clarified, “Nothing like a victory parade is planned as of now. Once we return from the ICC meetings, we will plan accordingly.” This means the team’s grand felicitation could happen only after the officials are back in India.
Meanwhile, Saikia also mentioned that the BCCI will raise the Asia Cup trophy issue with the ICC, seeking to resolve the ongoing matter surrounding the men’s T20 Asia Cup 2025 trophy that India refused to accept due to cross-border tensions.
