India’s pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah is expected to return to competitive cricket on November 7, featuring for India A in the third unofficial Test against New Zealand A. The match will serve as preparation ahead of India’s upcoming Test series against New Zealand. Wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant is also expected to join the India A squad as both players work towards regaining full match fitness. They are currently at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru as part of their fitness and rehabilitation programmes.
Bumrah has been rested to ensure that he remains fresh for India’s important fixtures, while Pant is recovering from an injury sustained during the Irani Cup. Their participation in the India A match is expected to provide valuable match practice before the senior team’s Test assignments. According to the provided schedule, the first Test between India and New Zealand is set to be played in Wellington from November 19 to 23, followed by the second Test in Christchurch from November 27 to December 1.
