Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha has said that the state administration is fully prepared to deal with Cyclone Arnab. She stressed that preventing loss of life in the affected areas is the government’s top priority. According to the minister, the situation is being closely monitored in coordination with departments responsible for disaster management. She urged people not to panic and assured them that the government would extend support during the emergency.
The minister directed teams from the SDRF, NDRF, police, fire services and revenue departments to remain on alert around the clock. She also instructed officials to keep rehabilitation centres ready to evacuate coastal residents to safer locations whenever necessary. The centres should have adequate supplies of clean drinking water, food and medical facilities. For emergency assistance, residents can contact the disaster management authority’s toll-free helpline numbers 1070 and 112, she said.
