Neeru Dhanda Wins Asian Games Gold.. Historic Triumph in Women’s Trap

Indian shooter Neeru Dhanda created history at the 2026 Asian Games in Japan by winning gold in the women’s trap individual event. She produced a composed performance in the final, hitting 27 targets out of 30 shots to secure the top spot. Her victory marks India’s first-ever individual Asian Games gold in women’s trap shooting.

Dhanda had earlier helped India win silver in the women’s trap team event alongside Aashima Ahlawat and Manisha Keer. The Indian trio finished second with 328 points, behind China’s gold-winning score of 346. Dhanda then carried her strong form into the individual competition, completing a memorable gold-medal triumph for India.
