Indian-origin chess prodigy Bodhana Sivanandan has created history by becoming the youngest player ever to achieve the Woman Grandmaster (WGM) title. The London-based schoolgirl accomplished the feat at just 11 years old after representing England at the Chess Olympiad in Uzbekistan. Bodhana scored 8 points from 11 rounds, finishing as England’s highest-performing player at the tournament. She also secured the final norm required for the WGM title during the competition.

With this achievement, Bodhana surpassed the previous record held by Russian player Kateryna Lagno, who became a Woman Grandmaster at the age of 12.
