Neeraj Chopra Set for Diamond League

Indian javelin star Neeraj Chopra is set to compete in the next leg of the Diamond League in Lausanne on August 21. After returning from injury, Chopra finished fourth in the Doha Diamond League with a throw of 85.69 metres before winning the silver medal at the recent Commonwealth Games with a best effort of 85.83 metres. The Lausanne meet will be his third major international event since making his comeback.

The competition promises to be highly competitive, with several world-class throwers in the field. Joining Neeraj are Paris 2024 Olympic champion Arshad Nadeem of Pakistan, Rio 2016 Olympic gold medallist Thomas Röhler of Germany, London 2012 Olympic champion Keshorn Walcott of Trinidad and Tobago, two-time world champion Anderson Peters of Grenada, and emerging Sri Lankan thrower Rumesh Pathirage.
