Heavy rainfall triggered by Cyclone Murasu has affected several parts of Andhra Pradesh, leaving low-lying areas and roads inundated. Streams and canals are overflowing following continuous downpours, disrupting normal life in several districts. Floodwater has entered residential colonies, bus stations, public buildings and places of worship, while agricultural fields have also suffered damage.
Several areas across Palnadu, Guntur, NTR, East Godavari, Konaseema, Kakinada, Eluru and Polavaram districts have reported flooding and rain-related damage. Roads and culverts have been damaged or submerged, bringing traffic to a halt on some routes. In Mangalagiri, a section of the centuries-old protective compound wall of the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple collapsed due to heavy rain. Paddy crops have been inundated or flattened in several places, while officials and public representatives are inspecting affected areas and monitoring the situation.
