Heavy rainfall triggered by Cyclone Murasu has caused severe flooding near Pedanandipadu in Andhra Pradesh’s Guntur district. The Nallamada and Nakka streams have breached their banks, allowing floodwater to inundate surrounding areas. Pedanandipadu, Nagulapadu and the villages of Kommūru and Garlapadu in Kakumanu mandal have been surrounded by floodwater, raising concerns among residents.
Floodwater is flowing over the main roads connecting Pedanandipadu and Kommuru, as well as Kommuru and Garlapadu, bringing traffic to a complete standstill. Road connectivity from Pedanandipadu towards Guntur and Parchur has also been disrupted. With several routes submerged, residents are facing difficulties travelling between the affected villages.
