Jadumani Singh Dominates Pakistan Boxer, Storms into Quarterfinals

Indian boxer Jadumani Singh delivered an impressive performance at the Commonwealth Games 2026, defeating Pakistan’s Sumama Rehman 5-0 in the men’s 55kg Round of 16 to advance to the quarterfinals. The 22-year-old boxer from Manipur dominated the contest and kept India’s medal hopes alive in the category. The victory carried added significance for Jadumani as the bout coincided with Kargil Vijay Diwas, observed in remembrance of India’s victory in the 1999 Kargil War.

Following the bout, Jadumani dedicated his victory to India’s Kargil heroes and said he was proud of defeating his Pakistani opponent. He expressed confidence about carrying the momentum into the quarterfinals and said his ultimate goal is to win a gold medal for India. Sumama Rehman had received a bye in the opening round, but Jadumani proved too strong for him in the pre-quarterfinal clash, securing a comprehensive unanimous victory.
