Pakistan is set to be the main host of the 2028 Women’s T20 World Cup, scheduled to take place from September 7 to October 1. However, a hybrid hosting arrangement could be considered because of the political situation between India and Pakistan. Reports suggest that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is exploring the possibility of holding India’s matches in Dubai. The UAE is reportedly being considered because of its travel convenience, costs and logistical advantages.
Under the reported plan, Pakistan could host the remaining group-stage matches and knockout games, excluding India’s fixtures. Lahore may also be considered for the final if India do not qualify, although the International Cricket Council (ICC) has yet to make an official announcement on the proposed venues. Similar arrangements have been used in previous tournaments: India played its matches in Dubai during the 2025 Champions Trophy, while its fixtures in the 2023 Asia Cup were held in Sri Lanka. The 2028 tournament could once again bring the hybrid hosting model into focus.
