

The Indian Premier League (IPL) has achieved another major milestone in global sport. According to the 2026 IPL Brand Valuation Study released by global investment bank Houlihan Lokey, the league's total business enterprise value has crossed $20.6 billion (approximately ₹1.97 lakh crore) for the first time, marking an 11.4% increase over the previous year. The IPL's standalone brand value also rose by 10.3% to $4.3 billion, reinforcing its position among the world's most valuable sporting leagues.
Among the franchises, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) retained the top spot with a brand value of $312 million, becoming the first IPL team to cross the $300 million mark. Mumbai Indians ranked second at $264 million, followed by Kolkata Knight Riders at $245 million, while Chennai Super Kings stood fourth at $244 million. The report also highlighted record digital viewership during the 2026 season, with the IPL reaching 1.06 billion screens and Connected TV viewership rising by 26%, underlining the league's growing global digital footprint.
