India’s men’s and women’s badminton teams are set to begin their campaign at the prestigious Thomas and Uber Cup Finals starting Friday. The men’s team aims to reclaim the Thomas Cup title, while the women’s team looks to deliver an improved performance in the Uber Cup. India is placed in Group A alongside Canada, Australia, and China for the men, and Denmark, Ukraine, and China for the women.
The men’s squad features promising and experienced players such as Ayush Shetty, Lakshya Sen, H. S. Prannoy, Kidambi Srikanth, along with doubles pairs Satwiksairaj Rankireddy Chirag Shetty and M. R. Arjun Hariharan Amsakarunan. The women’s team will be led by veteran P. V. Sindhu and includes rising talents like Unnati Hooda, Tanvi Sharma, and others. Teams finishing in the top two of their groups will advance to the knockout stage.
