India Men’s Team Secures a Big Win Over Japan at the Asian Games

India’s men’s badminton team assured itself of a medal at the Asian Games after defeating Japan 3-0 in the quarter-finals. Lakshya Sen won the opening singles match, while the doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty and singles player Ayush Shetty secured the other two victories, taking India into the semi-finals.

The Indian women’s team, however, bowed out after losing 1-3 to Japan in the quarter-finals. PV Sindhu and Unnati Hooda lost their singles matches as India fell 0-2 behind. Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand then won the doubles match to keep India’s hopes alive, but Tanvi Sharma lost the fourth match, confirming India’s exit from the team event.
