India Beat Afghanistan Decisively

India secured a commanding seven-wicket victory over Afghanistan in the first T20I. Chasing a target of 157, India reached 157 for three in just 13.4 overs. Abhishek Sharma led the charge with a blistering 82 off 32 balls, while Ishan Kishan contributed a composed 42 off 33 balls. Sanju Samson was dismissed for 10. For Afghanistan, Mohammad Nabi took two wickets and Azmatullah Omarzai claimed one.

Earlier, Afghanistan posted 156 for eight in their allotted 20 overs after being put into bat. Azmatullah Omarzai top-scored with an unbeaten 64, while Mohammad Nabi made 33. Arshdeep Singh was the pick of the Indian bowlers with three wickets, while Jasprit Bumrah, Axar Patel and Varun Chakaravarthy took one wicket each. With this victory, India have taken a 1-0 lead in the three-match T20I series.
