The Indian selectors have announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Afghanistan. Shreyas Iyer has been named captain, while Tilak Varma will serve as his deputy. Jasprit Bumrah has been included in the squad along with Nitish Kumar Reddy, Harshit Rana and Washington Sundar.

Young opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi has retained his place after impressing during the Zimbabwe tour, while Sanju Samson has been selected as the wicketkeeper. Former captains Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav have not been included in the squad. India will begin the series against Afghanistan in New Delhi on September 13, followed by the remaining two matches in the three-game contest.
