

The FIFA World Cup 2026, the most celebrated football tournament in the world, officially began with a grand opening ceremony on Thursday night. The event captivated fans with dazzling performances, vibrant cultural displays, and appearances by internationally acclaimed artists. Hundreds of performers showcased Mexico’s rich heritage and traditions through colorful dance presentations, creating a memorable start to the tournament.
One of the highlights of the evening was the grand unveiling of the FIFA World Cup trophy at the center of the stadium. Mexican pop band Maná energized the crowd, followed by performances from Los Ángeles Azules and Colombian singer J Balvin. The celebrations reached their peak when global pop star Shakira took the stage and performed the official FIFA anthem "Dai Dai" alongside Nigerian singer Burna Boy. The ceremony concluded with the opening match between Mexico and South Africa, officially marking the start of FIFA World Cup 2026.
