A controversy has emerged involving Rajasthan Royals team manager Romi Bhinder, leading to strict action from the Board of Control for Cricket in India. During a recent IPL match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, visuals showed him using a mobile phone in the dugout. Young player Vaibhav Suryavanshi was also seen sitting beside him and looking at the phone. This quickly went viral and raised concerns about rule violations.
As per match rules, using mobile phones in the dugout during a game is not allowed, as it may break anti-corruption and security guidelines. Following this, the Anti-Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU) has issued a notice to Romi Bhinder, asking him to explain his actions within 48 hours. IPL chairman Arun Dhumal confirmed that a detailed investigation has been ordered.
Meanwhile, sources close to Romi Bhinder stated that he has health issues, including asthma and had recently lost weight. Doctors reportedly advised him to avoid strain, including climbing stairs. They claim he only checked his phone due to a medical reason and did not make calls. It is expected that the investigation will consider his health condition before taking further action.
