Anahat Singh Scripts History, Storms Into World Junior Squash Final

Indian squash sensation Anahat Singh has created history by reaching the final of the World Junior Squash Championship, becoming the first Indian woman in two decades to achieve the feat. Anahat delivered an impressive performance in the semifinal, defeating Egypt’s Barb Sameh 11-3, 8-11, 11-4, 11-6. After comfortably taking the opening game, the Indian conceded the second but responded strongly to win the next two and seal her place in the championship match.

With the victory, Anahat became the first Indian woman since Joshna Chinappa in 2005 to reach the World Junior Squash Championship final. The achievement marks another significant milestone in the young player’s rapidly progressing career and gives India an opportunity to claim a prestigious junior world title. Anahat will face Egypt’s Ruqayya Salem in the final as she looks to cap her historic campaign with the championship crown.
