A small film with a quirky title and a sensitive core, Santhana Prapthirasthu attempts to present the topic of male infertility through a humorous, feel-good narrative. With Vikranth and Chandini Chowdary in the leads, the film surprises with its fun approach to what could have easily been a heavy subject.
Chaitanya (Vikranth), a shy Hyderabad techie, falls for Kalyani (Chandini Chowdary) after a chance encounter. Despite Kalyani’s father opposing the match, the couple marries. Their happiness takes a turn when Chaitanya discovers he has low sperm count, triggering conflicts, misunderstandings, and efforts to hide the truth — especially from his fiery father-in-law (Muralidhar Goud).
How Chaitanya handles the embarrassment, pressure, and emotional fallout shapes the film.
The film treats male infertility with humor rather than awkwardness.
Comedy clicks strongly, especially scenes involving Muralidhar Goud — his father-in-law character is the film’s biggest asset.
Abhinav Gomatam and Vennela Kishore bring consistent laughs.
Vikranth shows noticeable improvement and fits well as an embarrassed yet sincere husband.
Chandini Chowdary’s girl-next-door charm and emotional scenes add warmth.
The second half keeps the laughs flowing steadily.
The emotional thread arrives too late, weakening its potential impact.
First-half pacing feels slow, and the romance portions are conventional.
The investigation of emotions and conflict seems rushed in the final stretch.
Some edits, especially early on, could’ve been tighter.
Sunil Kashyap's music and BGM are decent but not standout.
Mahi Reddy Pandugula’s visuals are clean, giving the film a fresh look.
Direction is confident — Sanjeev Reddy handles a bold theme with good sensitivity and plenty of humor.
Santhana Prapthirasthu is a fun, easygoing entertainer that takes a delicate subject and presents it in a simple, laughter-filled manner. Vikranth, Chandini, and especially Muralidhar Goud shine throughout. Despite a slow start and a delayed emotional track, the film manages to be a pleasant watch for the weekend.
