Story:
Raju (Naveen Polishetty) belongs to a once-wealthy family whose fortune is squandered by his grandfather. Determined to secure a prosperous future, Raju plans to marry a rich woman and meets Charulatha (Meenakshi Chaudhary). Using his wit and charm, he grows close to her, only to be shocked by a major revelation that changes the course of his life.
Plus Points:
Naveen Polishetty shoulders the film almost entirely with his energetic performance and impeccable comic timing. His expressions, dialogue delivery, and involvement in the writing elevate the humour. Several fun sequences land well, especially in the first half. Meenakshi Chaudhary complements the hero nicely and impresses with her Telugu diction. Rao Ramesh and the supporting cast add value.
Minus Points:
The film turns serious towards the climax, but the emotional portions fail to make an impact. The tonal shift feels forced, and the second half loses momentum. A special song interrupts the narrative flow, and the villain track is weak. The climax also feels slightly stretched.
Technical Aspects:
Mickey J. Meyer’s music is decent, with a couple of songs working well visually. J. Yuvraj’s cinematography captures the rural backdrop neatly. Editing is crisp in the first half but could have been tighter later.
Verdict:
Overall, Anaganaga Oka Raju is a light, watchable entertainer driven by Naveen Polishetty’s performance. While it lacks a strong storyline and falters emotionally towards the end, it works as a festive time-pass if expectations are kept modest.
Rating: 2.75/5
