The Tamil Nadu government has taken a major step toward strengthening public transportation by introducing 300 newly purchased diesel and CNG buses. Chief Minister Vijay officially flagged off the vehicles at the Chennai Secretariat as part of the state's efforts to modernise its transport corporations and improve commuting facilities for the public. The initiative is aimed at enhancing the quality and efficiency of public transport services across the state.
The newly added buses have been allocated to seven government transport divisions, excluding the State Express Transport Corporation (SETC), which operates long-distance services. Following the launch ceremony, Chief Minister Vijay personally travelled in one of the buses, highlighting the government's commitment to public transportation. Officials stated that the new fleet will provide safer and more comfortable travel experiences for passengers.
