Sudha Reddy, wife of Chandragiri MLA Pulivarthi Nani, has made sensational remarks about the Tirupati Rural ZPTC election counting process. She alleged that irregularities took place during the counting and raised concerns over the decision to change the counting room at around 3:30 a.m. She also pointed out that the victory margin was just 600 votes, while more than 2,000 votes were declared invalid.
Sudha Reddy said they initially considered filing a petition seeking a recount but later decided against it following an appeal from members of the Chevireddy family. According to her, they were told that the elder son had already lost and that another defeat could cause emotional distress to the younger son. She said they withdrew the recount demand on humanitarian grounds and now believe that not pursuing it was a mistake.
