YSR Congress Party president and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has criticised the ruling government over the ZPTC and MPTC election results. In a post on social media platform X, he alleged that democratic principles were undermined from the nomination stage through polling and counting. He further claimed that, similar to the municipal election counting process, officials were pressured to manipulate results in several districts.
Jagan said that the ruling leadership might have won the elections using its official power but had suffered a moral defeat. He maintained that although the YSRCP did not win the elections, it had earned the trust of the people. He also congratulated party leaders, workers and women who, according to him, continued their fight to protect democracy despite facing obstacles, attacks and restrictions. Jagan stated that his party would continue to fight for the rights of farmers, women, youth, workers, employees and every citizen, while working towards building a better Andhra Pradesh.
