Venkatesh and Trivikram’s Adarsha Kutumbam has reportedly collected around Rs. 65 crore gross worldwide by the end of its first week at the box office. With a break-even target of Rs. 125 crore, the film has recovered only about 55% of the required business so far. Although the movie has earned $1.2 million in North America, its overall box office performance remains below the expected level.
The film is also facing strong competition from Bollywood’s Ramayana: Part 1. Venkatesh is currently shooting for January 12 Release in Kazakhstan, and the makers reportedly believe that his return to Hyderabad for promotional activities could help improve the film’s prospects. While the Diwali holiday weekend may provide some relief, trade observers feel that the film needs a significant boost to reach the safe zone. Its performance over the festive weekend will be crucial.
