Suriya 48: Is the Film Set for a Summer Release?

Kollywood star Suriya is teaming up with director T.J. Gnanavel for the much-awaited project tentatively titled Suriya 48. Following their association with the critically acclaimed Jai Bhim, expectations are high for this film, which is being produced by Hombale Films. According to reports, the makers are planning to release it in theatres on May 1, 2027, as a summer offering.

The film is currently progressing at a brisk pace, with the team reportedly preparing for an important overseas schedule in Japan after Diwali. The makers are aiming to complete the entire shoot by February 2027. Kayadu Lohar plays the female lead, while Prakash Raj and Yogi Babu are part of the supporting cast. Sai Abhyankkar is composing the music. Suriya is also expected to take a long vacation with his family during the Christmas and New Year holidays before focusing on his upcoming projects after completing this film.
