The United States has announced a new initiative offering financial incentives to undocumented immigrants who voluntarily leave the country. According to the Department of Homeland Security, individuals who choose to exit the US on their own will receive $2,600 along with free flight tickets. The move is aimed at encouraging voluntary compliance with immigration regulations.
Authorities have advised eligible individuals to register through the Customs and Border Protection mobile application to avail the benefits. The program, which was launched in January 2025, has already seen significant participation, with around 2.2 million people reportedly making use of the scheme so far. Officials stated that the initiative is part of broader efforts to streamline immigration processes and reduce enforcement challenges.
