Union Minister G Kishan Reddy said the Union Budget has been designed to ensure steady economic growth. Speaking to the media in New Delhi, he stated that the government has increased fertilizer subsidies to support farmers, which will also benefit those in Telangana. He noted that the overall budget size has grown compared to last year and that new schemes will support the Kakatiya Textile Park. The Centre plans to establish girls’ hostels in every district, with approvals for all 33 districts of Telangana. Incentives for data centres will aid the state, while the reduction of tax on overseas education from 5 percent to 2 percent will significantly benefit Telugu students.
Kishan Reddy further said the Railway Budget has been increased to ₹2.77 lakh crore and that three high-speed trains will be introduced for the state. On metro rail projects, he clarified that funding will be provided after DPR submission and cabinet approval. Responding to questions on the phone tapping case, he remarked that the issue has been dragging on like a television serial, adding that affidavits and statements from the former Chief Minister’s family have already confirmed the allegations.
