Telangana Chief Electoral Officer Sudarshan Reddy has himself received a notice during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision process of electoral rolls. The notice was generated after officials reportedly found a discrepancy in the surname recorded in his voter details. In the previous SIR exercise, his surname was recorded only with the initial “C”, while the current electoral roll reportedly contains his full surname, leading the system to flag his record as an anomalous voter.
Following the notice, Sudarshan Reddy approached the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) of the Karwan Assembly constituency and submitted his passport as a supporting document. He also provided the required clarification regarding the difference in his voter records. The incident has drawn attention as the state’s top election official himself became part of the verification process being carried out for the revision of electoral rolls.
