Munugode MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy has made it clear that the Congress high command’s decision will be final in the matter concerning Telangana Endowments Minister Konda Surekha. Speaking to the media in Hyderabad on Thursday, he said the high command has complete information about the issue. He added that the high command would decide who gets a place in Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s proposed Cabinet expansion and urged party leaders and workers to abide by its decision. He also appealed to the leadership to ensure justice for party workers who fought for the organisation during the 10-year BRS rule.
The controversy began after Konda Surekha’s daughter, Susmitha Patel, made strong remarks against Chief Minister Revanth Reddy during her mother’s birthday celebrations in Geesukonda, Warangal district. Her comments went viral and drew criticism within the party, following which Konda Surekha received a notice from the party. The disciplinary committee also sought an explanation, which she submitted in writing. Amid discussions that the high command could take serious action against her, speculation is also growing over a possible Cabinet reshuffle by Revanth Reddy. Rajagopal Reddy’s latest remarks came against this backdrop.
