Strong Objections to SIR Voter List

A controversy has erupted over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, with reports suggesting that nearly four million voters may be removed after being classified as "Uncollectable." Election officials claim that enumeration forms have been distributed to all eligible voters across the state, while digital processing has been completed for 259.5 lakh voters, accounting for 76.72% of the total 338.26 lakh electorate. However, a major political party has reportedly questioned how voters are being marked for deletion before the digitisation process is fully completed.

According to election officials, voters falling under the Absent, Shifted and Dead (ASD) category are being identified for deletion. The number of voters marked as "Uncollectable" has reportedly increased from 1.3 million to nearly 4 million within two weeks. Several constituencies, including Mancherial, Karimnagar, Uppal, Qutbullapur, Secunderabad and Warangal West, have recorded high percentages of such cases. Political parties have alleged that many voters never received enumeration forms and that even undistributed forms are being treated as uncollectable. Concerns have also been raised over alleged pressure on Booth Level Agents (BLAs) to sign verification documents without proper field verification.
