Revanth Reddy Vows Strict Action Over Farmhouse Plot

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has said that the state government will take the alleged farmhouse conspiracy, incidents of humiliation and attacks seriously and initiate strict legal action against those found responsible. Speaking in the Assembly on Wednesday, he said complaints and developments reported over the past two days would be consolidated and examined under the law. He announced that an inquiry would be conducted under the SC and ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, led by an IPS officer, with Hyderabad Joint Commissioner Vijay Kumar expected to be appointed as the investigating officer. Revanth Reddy also assured the Assembly Speaker of the government’s support and said incidents involving alleged insults to Dalits, the Speaker and attacks on women police personnel would not be ignored.

The Chief Minister strongly criticised the BRS leadership over the controversy surrounding the farmhouse and alleged attempts to provoke its members. He alleged that the developments were aimed at preventing discussions in the Assembly on issues including irregularities in education and Dharani, land-related matters and other public concerns. Revanth Reddy also criticised the alleged “purification” of the farmhouse after Dalit representatives visited the premises, describing such practices as discriminatory and unacceptable. He said the government would examine all developments from the alleged farmhouse conspiracy to the subsequent incidents and take criminal action wherever the law is found to have been violated. He also invoked the contributions of Congress, the Constitution drafted by B.R. Ambedkar and reservations for SCs and STs while contrasting India’s progress with Pakistan.
