Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that there is no full stop in politics while addressing the farewell ceremony of 59 retiring Rajya Sabha members. He described Parliament as a “universal university” and emphasized that public service does not end with retirement. Modi urged the retiring members to continue contributing their experience to the nation. He also praised senior leaders like H.D. Deve Gowda, Mallikarjun Kharge, and Sharad Pawar for their long-standing dedication to parliamentary work.
Highlighting the importance of a bicameral system, Modi said that having two Houses in Parliament strengthens democracy by allowing multiple perspectives on key issues. He noted that the experience of senior members plays a crucial role in guiding the nation. While humorous exchanges in the House have reduced, meaningful discussions continue to shape governance. The session also witnessed light-hearted moments between leaders, adding warmth to the farewell event.
