Ready for an Alliance in UP - Owaisi

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has indicated his willingness to form an alliance with other parties ahead of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections scheduled for next year. Speaking at an event in Moradabad, Owaisi said this is the right time for discussions and urged the Samajwadi Party to respond before it is too late. He reiterated that AIMIM does not want the BJP to return to power in the state and is ready to work with like-minded parties.

Owaisi said that if his party's participation is seen as affecting others' prospects, he is prepared to fight together in an alliance. He stressed that AIMIM is fighting for justice, equality, and dignity, and is not against any religion. Reacting to his remarks, BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla criticized the proposal, calling it an example of vote-bank politics and stating that Owaisi and Akhilesh Yadav are "two sides of the same coin".
