Former IAS officer of the Andhra Pradesh cadre, Praveen Prakash, has been sharing his views through videos on social media after taking voluntary retirement. In his latest video, he made an appeal to both the TDP and YSRCP parties. He said that a single mistake turned him from a hero into a villain in public view and that feeling of regret led him to apply for voluntary retirement.
Praveen Prakash described political witch hunting of government officials as a “cancer-like problem”. He recalled that in the past, only two or three officers faced such situations, including former united state Election Commissioner Banwarlal. Between 2014 and 2019, he said the number increased to around ten officers, with former Intelligence Chief AB Venkateswara Rao being one of the most affected.
He warned that the situation has worsened in recent times and could become even more serious if YSRCP returns to power. He questioned what would happen if governments keep changing and officials continue to be targeted. Praveen Prakash said it is the responsibility of both TDP and YSRCP to put an end to this practice. Expressing regret over his actions during the previous YSRCP government, he publicly apologized to former Intelligence Chief AB Venkateswara Rao and retired IRS officer Jasti Krishna Kishore, once again mentioning AB Venkateswara Rao by name.
