Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy took part in the Christmas celebrations at LB Stadium on Saturday and conveyed festive greetings to the Christian community on behalf of the state government. Addressing the gathering, he recalled the teachings of Jesus Christ, emphasising love, peace, and service to humanity. He described December as a “miracle month,” significant not only for Christians but also for Telangana and the Congress party, noting that the month marks the birth of Sonia Gandhi and the formation of the people’s government in the state. He said the government is working in the spirit of Christ’s message while maintaining peace and continuing welfare programmes.
Highlighting the Congress legacy, the Chief Minister said initiatives like the Food Security Act and the strong focus on education and irrigation under Jawaharlal Nehru laid the foundation for inclusive growth. He praised Christian missionary institutions for their dedicated service in education and healthcare. Revanth Reddy asserted that all religions deserve equal respect and warned of strict action against those who insult other faiths. He reiterated that minority welfare is a right, not charity, and said the government would resolve burial ground issues and advance Telangana in line with the Telangana Rising 2047 vision.
