The Andhra Pradesh government has introduced key changes in the pension approval process. To provide relief to those waiting for new pensions for a long time, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has ordered the immediate allocation of 200 new pensions in every district. Collectors had informed the CM that they face difficulties in taking decisions on urgent public complaints due to a lack of sufficient authority in pension approvals.
Responding promptly, the CM approved the allocation of 200 new pensions per district. These pensions will mainly benefit long-term patients, cancer patients, differently-abled individuals and people in distress. The district in-charge minister and the collector will coordinate to make decisions regarding these pensions. The CM also emphasized that the distribution should be based solely on eligibility, with no political interference.
