The CID has intensified its investigation into alleged irregularities in land records on Telangana’s Dharani portal. As part of the probe, 15 special teams conducted extensive searches simultaneously across the state over two days. During the operation, five more people were reportedly taken into custody. With four people already arrested, action has so far been taken against nine individuals in connection with the case. CID officials conducted searches in Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Medchal, Bhongir, Gajwel and other areas. They also questioned operators and data-entry staff who reportedly played key roles in managing the portal. Preliminary information suggests that unauthorised logins may have been used to alter records relating to ownership rights over valuable land parcels.
Alleged Irregularities Under the Cover of Court Orders?
The CID suspects that land records may have been illegally modified by using pending court cases and interim orders issued by courts as a pretext. Investigators are particularly focusing on allegations that illegal sub-numbers were created for valuable Bhoodan lands and ownership rights were subsequently transferred to others. Officials are also examining the possible involvement of more people in the alleged irregularities. The evidence collected during the searches is being analysed as part of the ongoing investigation. However, senior CID officials have not yet disclosed the complete details of the operation. Further information about the case is expected to emerge in the next one or two days. The investigation into alleged changes to land records, unauthorised transactions and the people behind them is continuing.
