Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh is on a visit to Australia with the aim of attracting investments to the state. The Australian government invited him under a Special Visits Program, and he is using this opportunity to combine official responsibilities with personal engagements.
On the second day of his visit, Monday (Diwali), Nara Lokesh held a roadshow in Sydney between 6 and 7 PM. The event was organized under the CII (Confederation of Indian Industry) banner and saw participation from industrialists and potential investors in large numbers.
During the roadshow, Nara Lokesh delivered speeches at two venues, emphasizing the favorable investment climate in Andhra Pradesh. He encouraged Australian industrialists and investors to take advantage of these opportunities and also highlighted Visakhapatnam as a prime investment destination.
He noted that the state government is transforming Visakhapatnam into an IT hub. Already, Google has committed $15 billion to establish a data hub in the city, and several other companies are planning to follow suit. Lokesh assured that investors do not need to wait for approvals, as the state government, under CM Chandrababu Naidu, ensures same-day clearances, with all processes handled transparently.
Highlighting future prospects, Nara Lokesh stated that Visakhapatnam is being developed into a trillion-dollar center over the next four years, which will also boost the state’s GDP. He emphasized that skilled youth are readily available, and the government is setting up the necessary infrastructure for industrial growth. Over the past 16 months, the government has secured investments worth ₹10 lakh crore.
During the visit, Nara Lokesh met with representatives from several companies, many of whom showed keen interest in investing in Andhra Pradesh.
