Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that women in West Bengal will not be safe as long as the Trinamool Congress remains in power. Addressing a public meeting in Bangaon, he accused the party of supporting criminals involved in violence against women and said that people in the state are demanding change. He also stated that if the Bharatiya Janata Party comes to power, it would end what he described as “jungle raj” and ensure justice for victims of atrocities.
The Prime Minister further alleged that cases of missing girls are frequently reported in the state, but the government fails to act. He highlighted the central government’s efforts toward farmers, workers, and women’s welfare, including increasing minimum support prices for jute and making jute packaging mandatory for certain crops. He also promised to revive closed industries in the Hooghly region, curb illegal infiltration, and work for the overall development of West Bengal.
