Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has welcomed the Supreme Court's verdict declaring that around 550 acres of disputed land in Miyapur, Hyderabad, belong to the state government. Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, he thanked the Supreme Court for its decision and said the land was worth thousands of crores of rupees. He alleged that former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, his relative Damodar Rao and others had attempted to grab the valuable property. Revanth Reddy further alleged that luxury cars and cash were offered as bribes in connection with the land dispute. He said his government had presented strong arguments in court to protect the property and had directed officials to take steps to safeguard it following the verdict.
The Chief Minister said the government plans to utilise the proceeds from the proposed sale of these lands for development in irrigation, education, healthcare and other sectors, with the matter to be discussed in the Cabinet. He claimed that his government had protected government lands worth approximately ₹1.5 lakh crore over the past three years. Referring to other disputes involving IMG lands, Kancha Gachibowli, Mamidipally, Gurramguda, Manchirevula and Bhadradri Kothagudem, he said the government had taken legal action to prevent alleged encroachments. He also accused BRS leaders of making misleading allegations over land issues and challenged them to attend the Assembly and discuss the matter. Revanth Reddy urged K. Chandrashekar Rao and K. T. Rama Rao to stop what he described as attempts to encroach on government property.
