The Andhra Pradesh government has intensified relief and restoration operations to bring normalcy back to areas affected by Cyclone Arnab. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has been continuously monitoring the situation for the past four days through teleconferences, video conferences and field visits. Before heading to the Mogalthur region on Friday, he reviewed the progress of restoration activities and sought updates from officials on electricity, road connectivity and mobile communication services. He directed the administration to continue working with the same commitment until assistance reaches every affected person and all public grievances are addressed.
According to official figures, electricity supply has been restored in 4,881 of the 5,404 affected villages, while 513 of the 552 damaged substations have resumed operations. Of the 1,045 affected mobile towers, 661 have been restored. Authorities have also cleared 2,270 fallen trees from roads and restored traffic in 119 of the 137 affected locations. Meanwhile, agricultural crops across 3,52,254 hectares and horticultural crops across 23,211 hectares have been affected in 16 districts. Central teams are expected to visit the state to assess crop losses. Officials estimate that the state received around 380 TMC of water due to rainfall between October 26 and 29.
