Minister Lokesh Slams Trade Union Leaders Over Political Remarks

Minister Nara Lokesh expressed strong anger over trade union leaders making political comments during a sensitive situation. He stated that it is inappropriate to politicize tragedies and clarified that the government’s focus is on supporting affected families rather than limiting itself to compensation alone.

He further said the government had secured a ₹15,000 crore package to prevent privatization and acted immediately after the incident with the Chief Minister and officials on high alert. Lokesh announced that ₹25 lakh ex-gratia will be credited to the victims’ families within 24 hours. He also emphasized that the government is working for the welfare of Telugu people and not in response to opposition leaders.
