Although India has many major cities, Telangana compares its growth with global hubs like New York and Tokyo. The reason behind this confidence is clear—over the past several decades, a significant portion of highly skilled Indian youth working in the U.S., Europe, and Asia have roots in states like Telangana. Now, many of them are looking back toward India for new opportunities. Successfully presenting these opportunities to global companies and attracting international talent has given Telangana its competitive edge. With this vision, the government is organizing a Global Summit and preparing strategic documents like ‘Vision-2035’ and ‘Telangana Rising–2047’. Former RBI Governor C. Rangarajan also stated that by 2047, Telangana will stand among the top four most developed states in India.
Moving in this direction, Telangana has set an initial goal of becoming a one-trillion-dollar economy. The long-term target is to transform the state into a three-trillion-dollar economy by 2047, meaning Telangana must reach an economic value of ₹270 lakh crore. The roadmap to achieve this—covering investment strategies, policy reforms, and development priorities—is being detailed in the ‘Telangana Rising–2047’ vision document. This roadmap will be officially released at the Global Summit to be held on December 8 and 9 in Fourth City. Achieving development on par with China and Japan remains the state’s ultimate long-term ambition.
