BRS working president and former minister K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) appeared before the Nampally ACB Special Court in Hyderabad in connection with the Formula E race case. Senior IAS officer Arvind Kumar, former HMDA chief engineer BLN Reddy and sports consultant Kiran Malleswara Rao, who are also accused in the case, appeared before the court as well. The court had earlier taken cognisance of the ACB chargesheet and issued summons to the accused.
The ACB has raised objections over the transfer of around ₹55 crore from HMDA funds in connection with the Formula E race, alleging that mandatory approvals and prescribed financial procedures were not followed. KTR had been absent from the previous hearing citing personal reasons, and appeared after the matter was adjourned for further proceedings. The accused have denied the allegations against them.
