Senior BRS leader K. T. Rama Rao alleged that the death of an RTC driver in Narsampet, Warangal district, was not a suicide but a consequence of the state government’s negligence. He stated that driver Shankar Goud was pushed to take the extreme step due to prolonged distress caused by the alleged betrayal of RTC workers by the government led by Revanth Reddy. KTR criticized the authorities for denying permission to shift the mortal remains to the depot for tributes and condemned the arrests of BRS leaders, including former MLA Peddhi Sudarshan Reddy, along with RTC workers and union members.
He demanded unconditional release of all those detained and urged the government to allow last respects at the depot as per the family’s wishes. KTR further called for ₹1 crore compensation and a government job for a family member. Highlighting growing unrest, he said multiple suicide attempts by RTC drivers in a single day reflect deep frustration among workers. He accused the government of failing to fulfill election promises and urged immediate dialogue with RTC employees to resolve their legitimate demands.
