The Congress party is reportedly taking steps to give greater importance to senior leaders. After former minister Jeevan Reddy left the party, the leadership is said to be focusing on reducing dissatisfaction among veteran members. As part of this move, V. Hanumantha Rao has reportedly been appointed as a government advisor.
Party sources believe the decision was taken to counter criticism that only new entrants were being given priority. More senior leaders are also expected to receive positions and nominated posts in the coming days. Congress is trying to strengthen cadre confidence by recognising long time leaders.
