Impose President’s Rule in Telangana - Harish Rao

BRS leader and former minister Harish Rao has demanded that President’s Rule be imposed in Telangana. He accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of resorting to diversion politics to prevent discussions on the government’s failures in the Assembly. Harish Rao said headlines and social media trends could be changed through diversion politics, but the problems faced by farmers and students could not be changed. He demanded answers on pensions, Rythu Bharosa and the implementation of the six guarantees, along with payment of pending dues.

Harish Rao alleged that farmers in Telangana were facing severe difficulties due to the shortage of water, fertiliser and power, resulting in crops drying up. He questioned why problems that did not exist during the previous BRS government had emerged after the Congress came to power. He said students were waiting for fee reimbursement, while government employees were awaiting PRC and DA benefits. He also criticised the government over the job calendar and alleged that it had effectively become a jobless calendar. Harish Rao further alleged that BRS women MLAs were attacked and questioned why the incidents were not discussed in the Assembly.

Harish Rao alleged that law and order had deteriorated in Telangana and that people from different sections were facing attacks. He claimed that complaints filed by opposition leaders and MLAs were not being accepted and demanded accountability from Chief Minister and Home Minister Revanth Reddy. He also sought an explanation over alleged attacks on women MLAs and opposition leaders and urged Rahul Gandhi to respond to the developments in the state. Harish Rao appealed to the Governor and the Centre to intervene and impose President’s Rule, asserting that the BRS would continue its fight on public issues.
