The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested Satyendra Kumar, a proclaimed offender wanted in connection with the multi-crore Fodder Scam, at Lucknow Railway Station around midnight on October 22. According to the report, Kumar had been absconding since 2001, evading law enforcement for more than two decades. His arrest followed an extensive search operation, during which investigators reportedly traced his movements to Nepal. Authorities subsequently intercepted him while he was travelling from Guna. The arrest marks a significant development in the long-running effort to trace individuals accused in the fodder scam case.
Following his arrest, Kumar is expected to be taken to Ranchi to face trial over his alleged involvement in the scam. The Fodder Scam involved allegations of large-scale fraudulent withdrawals of government funds allocated for cattle fodder and related expenses in the undivided Bihar region. The case led to multiple investigations and legal proceedings involving several accused over the years. Kumar’s arrest brings renewed attention to the ongoing efforts of investigative agencies to pursue proclaimed offenders who have remained untraceable for extended periods. The allegations against him remain subject to judicial proceedings.
